Pickled Fish
This was my mother's recipe. I loved it as a child and I still love it now!

Ingredients
- 2 onions, sliced
- 2 cups water
- 1 heaping cup sugar
- 1-3/4 cups vinegar
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 tsp salt
- about 1/3 jar pickling spices
- 4-5 lbs whole pike--scaled, gutted & cut into steaks
Instructions
- Slice onions and cook them covered with the 2 cups water for 15 minutes.
- Add remaining 5 ingredients and bring back to boil.
- Gently lay fish in the pan.
- Cook for 40 minutes.
