Shelly's Stuffed Cabbage

Ingredients
- 12-14 lg cabbage leaves
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/4 cup matzoh meal
- 1/2 cup cooked rice
- 1 egg
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 onion, diced
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 can tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup water
Instructions
- Remove leaves from head of cabbage carefully.
- Place cabbage leaves in large pot, cover with water and simmer 5 minutes. Drain and cool.
- Combine meat, matzo meal, rice, egg and salt.
- Place heaping tablespoon of meat mixture in center of each cabbage leaf, fold in sides to cover meat, and roll.
- Place rolls with open side down in large saucepan.
- Combine onion, lemon juice, brown sugar, tomato sauce and water.
- Pour combination over cabbage rolls.
- Cover and simmer 1-1/2 hours, basting occasionally.
