Sangria

WHY I LOVE THIS RECIPE: I love the ease of making sangria. Everyone thinks it is hard to make but it is not. You can make so many fruit combinations.

Sangria

Servings: 6 people
Author: Beverly Sandock
Print Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle inexpensive wine
  • ½ cup brandy
  • ½ cup orange-flavored liquor, such as Grand Mariner, Triple Sec, etc.
  • 1½ cups any combination of fresh fruits cut into bite sized pieces (apples, oranges, berries, peaches or plums)
  • Sugar, agave or simple syrup to taste, if desired
  • 3 cups sparkling water
  • Ice

Instructions

  • Mix wine, brandy, chopped fruit, and sweetener (if using) in a pitcher. Chill for at least 6 hours.
  • When ready to serve, add ice to glasses, top sangria with sparkling water or seltzer. Pour into glasses and add fruits as a garnish.

Notes

I really think of Sangria as a mix and match drink. It is very forgiving as long as you have the basic ingredients.
