Marduma – an Israeli Salsa
A spicy, cold salad/spread

Ingredients
- 3-4 Tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 Tbsp bell pepper, cut into small pieces
- 1 can diced tomatoes, drained
- hot, dry red chili peppers (4-5 for spicy, fewer for mild)
- salt, pepper, spicy paprika, mixed to taste
- 1 Tbsp chicken flavored soup powder
Instructions
- Heat oil in a medium sauce pan (non stick pan works best).
- Add the bell and dry peppers and sauté on medium heat.
- When peppers are begin to brown, add tomatoes and spices.
- Cook on low heat for about half hour, stirring often.
- Marduma is ready when there is no liquid left and the tomatoes are soft.
Notes
Serve cold with white or whole wheat Pita wedges.
