Marduma – an Israeli Salsa

Ingredients

vegetable oil

bell pepper, cut into small pieces

can
diced tomatoes, drained
hot, dry red chili peppers (4-5 for spicy, fewer for mild)
salt, pepper, spicy paprika, mixed to taste

Tbsp
chicken flavored soup powder
Instructions
Heat oil in a medium sauce pan (non stick pan works best).
Add the bell and dry peppers and sauté on medium heat.
When peppers are begin to brown, add tomatoes and spices.
Cook on low heat for about half hour, stirring often.
Marduma is ready when there is no liquid left and the tomatoes are soft.
Notes
Serve cold with white or whole wheat Pita wedges.
