WHY I LOVE THIS RECIPE: This recipe was often made by Phyllis Sandock, my mother-in-law, well over 60 years ago. She did not particularly enjoy cooking even thought she had a number of excellent recipes. This was one. I treasure this very uncommon cookie recipe because it was hers and because it is so very good.
Chocolate Pecan Cookies
Servings: 3 dozen

Ingredients
- 3 1 oz. squares unsweetened chocolate
- ⅛ lb butter
- ½-¾ lb pecan pieces or small whole pecans
- 1 can condensed milk
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°.
- Melt chocolate and butter over low heat or in the top of a double boiler.
- Add condensed milk. Blend well and continue cooking until thick and soft form, about 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat. Add pecans. Cool slightly.
- Drop by spoonfuls onto a buttered baking sheet or parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake at 350° for 12-14 minutes. Cool before serving.
