Prep Time 12 minutes mins
Cook Time 6 minutes mins
Total Time 18 minutes mins

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour

Instructions

  • Put a cookie sheet in the oven and preheat it to 480° F.
  • Once the oven is preheated, set a timer for 18 minutes.
  • Add the water to the flour and start your timer.
  • Knead the mixture to form a stiff dough, adding more water if too dry or more flour if too moist.
  • On a lightly floured table or work surface, roll the dough into a very thin circle or rectangle, depending on the shape of your dog treats.
  • Prick holes in the dough with a fork.
  • Cut out individual dog treats with a cookie cutter or the rim of a small glass and put them on the pre-heated baking sheet.
  • Bake until the tops are golden brown, about 3 minutes.
  • Flip them and bake until the 2nd side is golden brown and crisp, about another 3 minutes.
  • Remove to a cooling rack and, once cool, store in an airtight container.

Notes

I used this quantity of ingredients as I could complete the process in 18 minutes.  I would increase the quantities next time I make them, as I'll be more sure of what I'm doing so will be faster.
