Letter or Crescent Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb butter
  • 1 cup very finely chopped nuts
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 Tbsp vanilla

Instructions

  • Mix all dough ingredients.
  • Refrigerate for a while (preferably overnight) as it makes the dough easier to handle.
  • Preheat oven to 350 F.
  • Shape into crescent shapes and/or letters.
  • Bake 15-20 min. on lightly grease pans.

Notes

I made them for Junie and they were in many sizes and shapes. I found out that the secret passed down from Aunt Fannie was that you had to work quickly to prevent the dough from melting.
You can make half a recipe if you don't want too many cookies.
