6lbsapples (mixed or one variety, depending on preference)
1cupwater
16-inch cinnamon stick
Instructions
Slice and core the apples.
Put prepared apples in large pot with water and cinnamon stick.
Cook covered over medium heat until tender: 15-20 minutes or more, depending on the size and variety of the apples.
Remove from heat and use an immersion blender until the applesauce is the consistency you like.
Cool to room temperate and refrigerate. Also freezes well.
Notes
You can also finish this recipe by using a potato masher, blender, or food processor. Or, if you didn't peel the apples before cooking and want to so so afterwards, a food mill works well.ATTRIBUTION: Adapted from Life Made Simple
